About Lola & Wild

About 380 million tonnes of plastic is produced every year and half of that is for single use only. Staggeringly, only about 9% of plastic waste is actually recycled. There is so much plastic waste on Earth today that it is estimated about 12.7 million tonnes of it ends up entering our waterways and oceans each year.

As frightening as these numbers may be, it seems that the tide is now turning and the revolution against plastic has started. It may seem difficult to know where to start or to think that one person can make a difference. But you can. If every person switched to just a few plastic free or zero waste alternatives each, the difference from that would be massive.

This is why we created Lola & Wild. Our search over the last few years to find truly sustainable, plastic free, zero waste & cruelty free brands has lead us to so many wonderful suppliers who won’t compromise on the quality of their products or their ethos of providing truly sustainable business practices.

From natural, organic skincare to the joy of gifting – we bring together a beautiful, ethical, kind and wild collection of pure, conscious products for you to enjoy. I hope you love this collection of products as much as we have loved discovering them.

We care deeply about creating a business that gives back to nature. That’s why Lola & Wild has partnered with One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every sale.

What kind of packaging will my products be shipped in?

All our packaging is 100% plastic free!

Our packing boxes are made from recycled cardboard and are compostable. We also reuse supplier boxes for orders as this is the most efficient way of recycling boxes, so don’t worry if your box doesn’t look brand new – it’s probably busy living it’s second life!

The packaging tape we use is also made from recycled, compostable brown paper tape – so you don’t even have to remove it when recycling or composting. Items are protected with recycled tissue paper and recycled, compostable brown packing paper. Printed items are printed with non-toxic, water based ink.

Are all your products 100% plastic free?
Our passion is reducing the need for plastic and doing away with single use plastic altogether. We only source products from sustainable companies with a similar ethos to ours. Companies we work with all demonstrate their desire for eco-friendly and circular business practices. Many of the companies we use are 100% plastic free and some are working steadily towards this goal having already made massive leaps and bounds in finding ways to avoid plastic in their products and business. With that said we are all about supporting businesses which are working towards their goal of becoming 100% plastic free so some products may contain some plastic parts – this is only the case when either there is no alternative or the company is working towards an alternative (eg: some plastic pumps) and all plastic used is designed to be reused / recycled.
Why is Bamboo used instead of plastic?
Bamboo is incredibly sustainable! Not only is it one of the fastest growing plants on the planet but it absorbs more carbon dioxide than tree’s do like a really clever carbon sponge! Bamboo is super strong and sturdy and yet also 100% decomposable – this means that, for example, your bamboo toothbrush will fully decompose in around 3 years as opposed to your plastic toothbrush which will live forever.
Is Aluminium sustainable / recyclable?
In a word – Yes! Aluminium is one of the most sustainable materials available dues to it’s ability to be recycled indefinitely. Aluminium is known as a ‘green’ metal due to it’s eco-friendliness. Recycling aluminium saves 95% of the energy required to produce aluminium from raw materials. This is why so many of the companies we work with are now using aluminium packaging instead of plastic – and many of the aluminium pots we sell can be repurposed to house something else!
